Our Wedding

Olivia and Parker’s love story began in Oxford, Ohio, at Miami University, where they met in August 2019. Living in neighboring college houses, their friend groups quickly merged and before long, so did their lives. What started as a friendship soon grew into something more, and they officially began dating in January 2020. In May 2021, Olivia and Parker graduated from Miami University and celebrated with a memorable weekend that brought the Hicks and Hess families together for the first time. After graduation, the two moved to Chicago to begin their careers and stay close to one another, living just minutes apart and making the most of life in a new city together. Now, Olivia and Parker call Old Town home. Over the past six years, they’ve truly grown up together spending their time exploring the city, trying new restaurants, and traveling whenever they can. In August 2025, Parker proposed to Olivia on the South Pond Bridge in Lincoln Park, just steps from his first Chicago apartment, where many special memories were made during their early years after graduation. The celebration continued at Navy Pier, where family and close friends were waiting to surprise them with love and excitement. The countdown is officially on for August 29, 2026. Olivia and Parker are beyond excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people who have supported them through every phase of life. They couldn’t imagine a more meaningful place to do so than Northern Michigan, a place close to their hearts and filled with countless cherished memories.

Our Story

PLEASE NOTE: (On Site)The Villages Suites can sleep up to 6 people depending on the suite and are right next to the reception venue! **If you wish to walk back to your room after enjoying, you're evening with us, call ASAP (231-439-2400) to reserve your desired suite. (You cannot reserve online) A block of 10 suites has been reserved. If all fill up, we have the option for more available! Amenities Be sure to enjoy recreational amenities, including a hot tub, a 24-hour fitness center, and a seasonal outdoor pool. Additional features at this hotel include complimentary wireless internet access, gift shops/newsstands, and a hair salon. Rooms Treat yourself to a stay in one of the 46 individually decorated guestrooms, featuring fireplaces and flat-screen televisions. Kitchenettes are outfitted with full-sized refrigerators/freezers, stovetops, and microwaves. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment. Conveniences include coffee/tea makers and washers/dryers, as well as phones with free local calls.

Travel & Accommodations

For the WELCOME PARTY, the dress code is 'Summer Cocktail'.Think playful yet polished: colorful, flowing dresses for the ladies, and lightweight suits or dressy separates for the gentlemen. For the CEREMONY &amp; RECEPTION, the dress code is 'Black-tie Optional'. GENTLEMEN, suits and ties are a must; tuxedos are welcome but optional(the wedding party will be in tuxedos). LADIES, floor-length dresses in late summer hues.(Kindly note that cocktail hour is taking place on grass, so we recommend choosing footwear accordingly.)

Northern Michigan has long been one of Parker &amp; Olivia's favorite places, and a second home to Olivia, where she spent many of her childhood summers. This region of Northern Michigan—Bay Harbor, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs—offers one of the most picturesque and luxurious weekend getaways, centered around the stunning Little Traverse Bay.
